God knows you could spend a lifetime counting them, but even a lifetime would never be enough. Every star seemed to scream out every moment of every day spent together. The sultry sea air reeked of enough nostalgia without the assistance of the universe, ever reminding him of the nights spent counting the stars from the window, nights that were little more than memories now. The old man didn’t so much as glance up, though, as his calloused hands overturned the deep grey stone and rolled it aside. The rain and clouds that had been no less than anticipated were replaced by a blanket of stars and the kind of moon that illuminates every surface of the Earth below it. Just an outline, mostly.Īs the flickering light of the sun faded below the horizon, the heavens roared to life. I'm not asking you to write it for me, just asking for you to point out changes I should make and things I need to keep. Edit every little bit of this, pick it apart, make suggestions because I want this to be amazing, nostalgic, impactful, and so far, it's none of the above.
